Hi,
I would like to place a mini panel outside the page-wrapper. I see it's possible with the page header in the settings, but I wondered if it's possible with other elements too?
Thanks for a great theme, Joe

peter törnstrand commentedNo, I'm afraid it's not. The page header and footer are special in that sense. But you could always place the mini panel in either the header or footer and place that element outside of the wrapper. If you don't want your actual footer for example outside the wrapper you could make that a mini panel and place in the main panel section.

joecanti commentedThanks Peter - i see...So just use the header and footer as wrappers for anything that needs to go outside. I couldn't see any way to insert the page footer using panels - am I missing something?
Cheers, Joe

peter törnstrand commentedWell, that depends what you mean by page footer. In my eyes it's nothing special about the footer. It's just content as everything else. In D7 it's just a block I think. So just put what ever content you like in for instance a custom content panel and add an ID or CLASS to that container.

joecanti commentedOk - thanks peter for your help. I just couldn't see how to place anything into the 'footer' because I was looking for a footer.tpl.php file (like header.tpl.php), but this isn't a problem now. I wanted to add a background image to the footer which stretched right across the page, but instead of addding this into a footer outside the page wrapping, I just added an html tag in the CSS with the bottom aligned background image.
All the best, joe
