Kaltura Module and Kaltura as a field depend on Kaltura views

If you try to use Kaltura Module and Kaltura as a field to add videos to a content type (define a content type, add a field of type Kaltura Media Field, try to add media to it) you get a series of ajax errors and the following in the error log:

Warning: Attempt to modify property of non-object in kaltura_existing() (line 368 of /var/www/harvard/forum/htdocs/sites/all/modules/contrib/kaltura/kaltura.module).

Enabling the Kaltura Views module fixes the issue.

This should be a dependency declared in Kaltura as a field module, I think.
