Hi,
I need to handle a situation where a certain role must be limited to only create 5 nodes total of several content types (images, video, audio) and then only another 2 of another content type (detail)... Would this module be able to help in that use case?

duaelfrIt only depends if you want each user of a role being able to post X nodes of a kind or if you want the restriction to apply to all users of this role.
In the first case, the module will not help in this actual version (but this is planned), in the other case you are at the right place

tchopshop commentedI'm sorry to bother you again... but I'm not quite sure I understand how you are distinguishing between each and all. Each user should only be able to upload 5 nodes total (the sum total of 3 different content types -- not 5 of each content type, which would be 15 nodes), and then another 2 of a different content type. Right now the module seems to limit total nodes (of whatever type) by role, and total of each content type by role, but not total of several content types combined. Am I right?

duaelfrYou are right.
You may try to achieve this with the Rules and User points modules, node_limit is not going that way.
