Hi,
are there any plans to port this module to drupal 7?
Thanks,
Diego

Anybody else who needs ls_extras for D7, please add your comments here. It would also be useful to know which of the ls_extras features (views titles, block titles, node titles, search) are most important to you.

Andy Inman CreditAttribution: Andy Inman commentedThanks for the input dimitriseng - do you use LS with Ubercart? That seems to be one of the main applications for LS and LS Extras.
When I originally wrote LS back in D5 days, the main application (for me) was Views header/footers. Since then, things have progressed considerably, and language support in Drupal has improved a lot, but it seems from usage statistics that people still find LS useful in D7.
I never really liked LS Extras :) The whole idea of setting a title this way seems like a hack! But, it works ok, and people seem to want/need it. Right now I don't personally have an application for LS Extras - I think it will be quite a lot of work to port it to D7 because of all the Drupal API changes, so getting some input on real-life use cases helps a lot, as I may not be able to provide all the functionality of the D6 version.
So, still waiting for more input from other users, but I will try to take a look at doing the port soon.

When creating a Webform it creates a new node and translating that form means creating a new node for each language. This is a pain as most clients just want a single place (ie node) where all form submissions go into.
The labels on the Webforms can be translated - thanks to a patch in the Webform's issue queue. Would be nice to be able to translate the title.

Andy Inman CreditAttribution: Andy Inman commentedWhat about translateable fields capability in D7 - doesn't that provide a solution for fields in Webform?
For node titles, there is now the Title project.
Conclusion - I don't think a D7 version of LS_Extras is needed.

Thanks.

gilles.hirt CreditAttribution: gilles.hirt commentedI've installed the LS Module as a great feature to translate views header. The feature to translate the node title for this header is missing.
So my preference is to get it for node titles and views titles, especially for this views header problem.
thanks for your great work so far!

Andy Inman CreditAttribution: Andy Inman commentedFor Views headers/footers etc, these days I tend to insert node content as headers etc. LS can be useful for that, for inserting node content of the correct language. Something like:
You can use some PHP or something like InsertNode. This has the advantage that content editors can edit and translate the node content without having to use the Views UI.
That said, the other day I did want to use LS for block content, and the inability to set the Block Title meant that it was not an option. But, I still see very little demand for LS Extras features. LS itself seems to be no longer growing much in number of installations, not sure why that might be.
