I was wondering if there is a way to accomplish either of the following effects in Drupal 7 using Mainelli (this is in refernce to my site at www.netguistics.com)

1) I would like to move the tabbed content closer to the top edge of the browser window (I've tried turining off search, logo, name, slogan, etc. with no effect). I was hopen for a look closer to that of the sites I created using v6.x-2.95

2) I would like to really love to achieve the same effect I could in v6.x-2.95 where the company name & slogan could be overlaid as a hyperlink to home page of site over the rotating banner images

I am really more interested in achieving #1 as I feel space is being wasted forcing user to scroll to see any meaningful content.

Thanks

Hello,
I have tried out the theme for v2.X (using D6) versus v3.x (using Drupal 7). To get the similar effect as the v2.X version of theme you need to modify the stylesheets and the structure of the page template file. I have attached all the files along with the screenshot of my local site to see how the page will look after modifications. Hope this help!
Thanks,

Cool! Thanks, this is what I was looking to do. However, when I tried the files you offered I found that the company name and slogan were not clearly overlaid on top of the banner & the search bar was not visible.Any thoughts???

Thanks,
Kevin

Hello Kevin,
I can see the site title and site slogan on the background images. I have added the search block in the search region and it is also visible now on the right side of the banner. You can try increasing the z-index for the top div in layout.css file. Search for #top and try to increase the z-index in following style

#top {
float:left;
height:140px;
margin-bottom:10px;
position:relative;
width:100%;
z-index:10;
}

Increase it from 10 to say 15 and try. Which browser are you using to test the site and which version?
I am attaching the screenshot of my local site for your reference.
Thanks,
Prajakta

THere is something odd about how banners display (I've left your changes in place at my site www.netguistics.com) which prevents name andsearch box from displaying "on top of" the banner after it fades in/out. I also get the following errors after applying your changes when I go to the Edit tab

Warning: Missing argument 4 for marinelli_c_c(), called in C:\Domains\netguistics.com\wwwroot\sites\all\themes\marinelli\templates\page.tpl.php on line 119 and defined in marinelli_c_c() (line 133 of C:\Domains\netguistics.com\wwwroot\sites\all\themes\marinelli\logics\layout.inc).

Any ideas?

Kevin

OK, so I replaced the dropped $exception parameter and now the call to marinelli_c_c() has no issues. However I stilll don't see where to change the display so that the banner image is in the background and the Company Name, Slogan & Search box are displayed "on top of" the rotating banner. They only appear while the slide is in transition. Any ideas?
