arrows not showing over image [#1234860]

my galleria pictures are showing up, but it seems the classic style is not being applied. The arrows are not showing up, nor is the background. please help, i have spent my whole day trying to figure this out

Same issue -- after selecting the 'galleria' format type for teaser and full-node. The Classic style is not being applied. Nor is the number of thumbnails I specified to show up.
