The client libraries in 6.x and 7.x currently differ. We should get 6.x using the updated libs.

Reviewing the API calls done in the 6.x version (checked-out the 6.x head) and comparing it to the latest API and client libraries, it seems like there are no changes in interfaces that should cause the application to break when changing the client library.

replacement of the client library should be transparent.
