The first time that I installed Views Gallery, it created:
-two custom node views: gallery and gallery_list
-two custom content types: Gallery and Photo
-Custom Pager: Views Gallery pager
-a node: Gallery

On the current installation that I am working with, when I installed Views gallery, it created the two custom content types: Gallery and Photo, but the following were missing:
-Custom Pager: Views Gallery pager
-two custom node views: gallery and gallery_list
-a node: Gallery

I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing cache several times but it has not worked. I made sure to install all required modules before installing Views Gallery.

When I create a node Gallery, it "add photo" link does appear. It does allow me to add Photos, and the node Photos are created. However these photo nodes do not appear on the node Gallery Page.

Are you using 6.x-2.0-beta2? (If so, please update issue status).

In that case, most likely you are seeing the image node titles but not the image itself; it will work if you edit the 'Gallery' view and select an imagecache style. At least upon installing I found it was set to 'Generic file' instead of an imagecache style. (I don't know about the first part of your problem).
