I've spent a good 30 minutes search drupal.org for a solution, but I have only been able to remove the subsequent content on the front page and not the "Welcome to" message.
The proposed solutions don't seem to match up with what is in the page.tpl.php file for the Jackson theme. What am I missing?

Because a page reports the author, time stamp etc and I no want it

brentbice CreditAttribution: brentbice commentedIf I am understanding the issue correctly, you need to change the default front page. Navigate to admin > config > system > site information and update the Default front page field to whatever node you want to be the homepage for the website.
