astutonetHello friends.
I also have this problem on a site. Interestingly, in the online version, the counter froze the records, saying that only two users liked the site.
However, I have a backup of the the same site on localhost. When I access the backup, curiously it accuses a much larger number of visitors liked the site.
My version is 6.x-1.x-dev.
Any idea?

poliakustyczny CreditAttribution: poliakustyczny commentedHi,
I discovered similiar issue. When someone likes the "whole" page on facebook (puts for example just "domain.com"), counter in each new article is sum of every likes like that. I tried 7.x-1.0 stable and dev versions.
