these show in Notifications settings under Options to set enabled notification types: http://screencast.com/t/b3EuFM5J

but they do not show under the User Interface tab: http://screencast.com/t/4afDYqq8

and as a result; they do not show under user's list of subscriptions they can add: http://screencast.com/t/NUffQaeHSYdN

so perhaps i am missing something; but where then would be able to add our custom subscriptions?

ahhh.. i see this at top of custom sub page:

You can create custom subscription types and make them available in the registration form or enforce them for new users. Once you have created one or more subscription types they can be assigned to one or more users on the User administration page.

so i think i am changing this to a feature request... it seems like it would be useful if users could manage their subscription to these as they do with other subscription types.
