Using rules to send out an order confirmation but some of our products have an & and its interpreted as & We can change the name of our products, any advice?

1 order of Cajun Style Andouille at $5.99 each
1 order of Artichoke & Garlic at $5.99 each

I have fixed this by stopping this from being passed through check_plain() which stuffs up & and the like.

Just to make sure nothing breaks I have also run it through filter_xss_filter().
