Looks like there is no way to mark content private on organic groups for Drupal 7. Will of D7 version of this module be made available?

Worked out how to do this on the D7 version of OG.

Go to /admin/config/group/fields
Under bundle select the group content type that you want to mark content private for (eg Article)
Under fields select "Group content visibility"
Click add field.
