Can the Transaction ID (similar to invoice ID) that is recorded in civicrm from ubercart orders be grabbed from the PayPal or Google Checkout Transaction ID just like the way that this happens when civicrm contributions are transacted within civicrm.

This is an excellent idea, I'll deal with the bugs you've found first, (all probably next weekend) but this should be implemented. I'll probably just nab the code from civi, unless I can find a way to use their API.
