Currently we can set refresh period only by default feed importer. What i was thinking that it would be good if we can set refresh period for each node we create. As for example some sites i want to check once a day and some sites every 5 minutes. Now each one is checked on every cron load and i would guess that with this setting we could take some load from servers and make this module work more efficient. What do you think?

I was going to post this feature request as well. I'm going to look into adding this as a feature, if it isn't too complicated and I submit a patch, would the maintainer consider submitting it?
