It would be nice if there was a mechanism for migrating from layout to layout. For example (this is pseudocode):

function panels_960gs_panels_migrate_layouts($vars) {
  $vars['layouts'] = array(
    // FROM one layout TO aother layout
    '960_16_475_leftSb' => '960_16_475_466_leftSb',
    '960_16_394' => '960_16_394_3343',
    // etc...
  );
}

// And possibly specify from region to region?

There's a UI to do this, but there isn't a way to do this automatically via code. Automating it would be very difficult, unfortunately. I can't, offhand, think of a good way to do it.

If you can come up with a good workflow for what it would od/how it would work, I'll think about it, since migrating between layouts *is* an issue.

Marking "won't fix" but feel free to re-open if you come up with the above.
