We currently have a 6.x-3.0-alpha3 since April 2010 and both D7 & D6 3.x dev branches that are pretty active and kept in sync with each other as much as possible and where applicable. The 3.x series counts a nice 12k sites using it (taking into account 7.x-3.x, 6.x-3.x and all 6.x-3.0-alphas). In general, we can say we are in a pretty good path when it comes to 3.x. What is missing now is for Views3 to start being mentioned in the project's page.
Anyways, we should start adding documentation where we can, especially when it comes to new features added in Views 3 (pointing to any related, pending issues). Since #740686: Integrate semantic views got in in both branches, I think we should mention this feature in that list too. Does now Views cover all features that Semantic Views does? Then this should be mentioned as well. If this feature was actually a 'merge' that simply got included in Views, then most of its documentation still applies and should be a simple copy-paste job in its majority. There's also this video demoing this feature that can be linked so that people can grasp how it works.

mlncn commentedIs documentation done (first) in the Advanced Help included with the module or on a handbook page?
dawehnerThe advanced help is a place where people can use it very easy in the views interface.

esmerel commentedAdded a basic how-to page to advanced help for Semantic views in both 3.x versions. There's already a general list of new features in the /new page, each of which needs some documentation, but I'm not going to track them all here in one issue. If folks want to submit patches for those, I'll be happy to look them over and commit them.

klonosThanx for taking the time to update this issue Lynette. Still can you please make sure that at least the semantic views feature gets a mention someplace in the project's page + add the link of the video I mention in #0 to the documentation section?
Thanx in advance ;)

merlinofchaos commentedWe don't link to videos in the advanced help.
klonosI meant the project's page Earl. Updating it does fall under the "documentation" component, doesn't it?
merlinofchaos commentedApparently there is an 'other places to get help' page so I'm wrong.
That said, I'm not comfortable linking to videos on the project page. There's a lot of videos out there, and I don't want to be in the business of filtering which videos are 'good enough'.
Assigning to esmerel to deal with the "other places to get help" page in the advanced help.
