Errors when enabled in Drupal 7

Does anyone have any insight to this problem?

No but in case that my latest tries to enable the media-gallery with rc4 is killing the site (http://drupal.org/node/1012674) I think this issue is already fixed cause with RC3 some new bugs came up which were fixed with rc4.

I am using Drupal 7.0 and it's still broken. Thus, changed the title of this issue to reflect all Drupal 7 releases. Also, moved to critical since D7 is now live and this is a problem that keep users from using Media Gallery.

Just installed drupal 7 and was looking for a gallery system and tried this one. Same errors as above. Just for kicks I powered through and created a gallery but am still getting all kinds of errors including some having to do with pupload

This looks like *just* what I need for gallery in d7 and will start trying to debug things myself tonight. Hope you guys can sort it out first though.

After getting the original error as mentioned in the description, I added Entity API module - entity-7.x-1.x-dev, DRUPAL-7--1.

Now getting a Fatal error using Media Gallery in the Media Dev profile.

Below is the Error in Media Dev profile:

I can't test media gallery because media doesn't work with Drupal 7.0...
Seems media and media_gallery are very buggy and I have to wait until a usable/ working release is out

Worked for me after applying this patch: #1017450: list_number became list_float

I get the same error as in the OP. Even with that patch applied. Plus something else at the end of the Undefined Index errors.

I'm running a brand new install of D7 with just the basics enabled.

#10 work for me ! Still have the error on #11, but at less it finally work.

I also notice when using with locale module theses errors when creating a node Gallery. It's not so bad because after refreshing the page the errors are gone.

Seems to have fixed the index $i issue in plupload
Undefined variable: i in plupload_element_value()

and post #10 seems to have fixed some of the errors

when trying to add content to the gallery.

I sure hope we can get this figured out. The gallery looks really great. Just building a site for a friend and he needs bigtime image galleries. Saw drupal 7 got released so I thought I'd give it a shot. Might have to go back to 6 and use views gallery or something soon. This was supposed to be a quicky web site for a friend, not a full time job :)

+1 - I've built a completely new 7.0 build and all is fine until I try to enable media gallery, when I get the errors:

They go away when I disable the media_gallery module. I haven't tried creating a gallery, let alone adding content to it - and I haven't tried the patch in #10.

For me using the D7 v1.0 release with installing the latest dev version via cvs it´s fixed:

I ended up having to start a fresh d7 install and it worked out. Updating the module without reinstalling everything didn't work (still got the errors).

Hmm. Perhaps not. The HEAD version seems to work, images upload etc but no thumbnails are generated. The original files can be downloaded however.

also:
sites/all/modules/media_gallery/media_gallery.js not found among other things.

At one point those files were in the cvs

All I get are placeholders for any images beyond original. Not sure if it's a permissions thing, everything seems right. Gonna dig some more or move to node gallery and d6

I'm new to CVS, I tried using TortoiseCVS and I can't tell which release I downloaded. Can someone walk me through exactly how to try this? I wonder if using the development release of drupal itself would work with the release version of Media Gallery

Use Drupal 6.20, lot of drupal 7 modules are not ready.

Beta2 is outdated and not useable with the D7-Final-Release I guess.
Please try the latest versions from cvs.

Downloaded Mori's zipfile as directed in comment #25

Did a vanilla install of D7

Installation of all modules in that zip went smoothly except for media_gallery.

media gallery reported the same field_view_mode_settings() error reported repeatedly above.

However. The module installs. Galleries are enabled, I have added images and thumbnails have been generated.

I'll report back here if I find any further errors, but for now, it appears to be working as expected, if not installing as expected.

same probleme

I tried a combination of things and this is what seems to work thus far for me with a fresh D7 install. I Downloaded Mori's zipfile mentioned in #20 but used the head version of media_gallery mentioned in #20. No errors as of yet.

I tried using ascii122's #20 file and then Mori's #25 setup: I can create galleries with no problems - but in both cases, no thumbnails are being created. I can only see the actual image if I go to edit the media file.

#36 it's amazing that a few folk have got it to work. I tried pretty much everything and never got the thumbs or cover page images to be created, while some got it to work.

I ended up going with node gallery and d6 for berniesbronze.com just because he needs a fast site. Too bad because I was really hot to try out d7. Also now he wants to sell stuff so no way am I ready for ubercart on d7 :) :)

I mean it does say 'Media Gallery is in ALPHA status. It is used in production, but since it is based on ALPHA projects (D7 and media), we don't recommend using it on production sites. We know you will anyway, and that's why you're awesome. You've been warned.'

i tried alle the above proposals...with no effect. i'm still getting the same undefined index notice. if it wasn't for this error i'd switch to d7 right away. and i would really like to see all the new things regarding image and file handling - especially mass uploading of images. i love what's been done otherwise. the look + feel and usability of drupal has really gotten a facelift with the newest official release. cudos to you.

I can add images (should be uploaded to files/ directory directly) but not displayed in gallery.

This issue seems to be about too many things at once. I suggest we get @yched's patch committed and then perhaps close it in favor of other issues?

In any case, if you are seeing issues where you are able to install the module but images you upload don't display or don't display correctly, that doesn't seem related to this issue and is probably a duplicate of #1020922: Images aren't displayed and are instead replaced by a generic file icon (when used with the Styles 7.x-2.x branch) instead.

Let's at least keep this issue focused on errors that occur when you are actually installing or enabling the module :)

I found this other issue (http://drupal.org/node/1008328#comment-4025558) & applied the suggested patch to the Update module (core) because I was getting other errors (related to permissions) & could not update modules.

About the current issue, I was getting the same error as in #47 after Flushing all caches.

I'm new on the forum. I tried to install media gallery and get a lot of undefined index errors. Now I uninstalled every module and deleted them. Then I uploaded the modules form the zip of Mori. But I still get those errors.
I can use the media library, but the gallery didn't work. I can make galleries. Then I click "Add media". Go to Library. Click on an image I had uploaded. Till there everything works fine. But when I click on "Submit", the popup goes away but nothing happend. No media added to the gallery.
Any ideas?

So it looks like @yched's patch from #51 actually got committed a while ago, as part of this larger commit:

So, I'm marking this issue fixed for now. It's not totally clear that that change will fix all the problems people had enabling the module; however, we are putting out a new beta release of Media Gallery in the next couple of days that contains a whole bunch of other fixes also. Once that's released, if people use it and still have problems that show up specifically when the module is being enabled, feel free to reopen this issue (or start a fresh one and link to it from here).

I first installed the module media gallery beta5 and media beta 4 without error, could create a gallery and upload images but couldn't view any thumbnail when previewing the gallery.
I then disabled/enabled the module again which gave me the following error :

Same thing is hapening if I uninstall and reinstall the all the media module.

@PePiToO: If you were enabling/disabling the media-related modules a lot, you likely ran into this bug in the Media module: #970696: Disabling and re-enabling media module throws exceptions, leaves website in unusable state.
