The problem seems to be that in settings for Grid/List view, the module uses imagecache presetid instead of presetname in the dropdown list and the urls for image also uses presetid instead of presetname. Upon installation it works because the default is product_list. But as soon as you change to some other setting (the numeric ids), there are no imagecache dirs for those numeric ids. The code need to use the presetnames.

There is an error in module uc_advanced_catalog.admin.inc in the functions

  1. uc_advanced_catalog_form_uc_catalog_grid_settings_form_alter
  2. uc_advanced_catalog_table_settings_form
  3. uc_advanced_catalog_list_settings_form

This part of the code returns the imagecache presetids as select options:

  if (module_exists('imagecache')) {
    $imagecache_presets = array_keys(imagecache_presets());
    $options = array();
    foreach ($imagecache_presets AS $preset) {
      $options[$preset] = $preset;
    }

Instead, it should return the imagecache presetnames:

if (module_exists('imagecache')) {
    $imagecache_presets = imagecache_presets();
    $options = array();
    foreach ($imagecache_presets AS $preset) {
		$options[$preset[presetname]] = $preset[presetname];
    }

Replacing the code in the three functions resolves the issue.
