To repeat what I saw(make sure you have module "masquerade" installed):
1. create a template for node update.
2. enable activity/all page from views, give view permission to authorized user.
3. update a node.
4. open the page activity/all
5. it looks fine because your user id=1
6. switch to a normal user using masquerade
7. all rows on the page activity/all are doubled

timoratd commentedit turns out to be a permission issue, some users got double rows, some even got triple rows, some got the same as the super user.
Scott Reynolds commentedDo you meant node view?
Do you have node access module like Organic Groups installed?
timoratd commentedI don't have OG, but I have a few roles, and one user might have more than one role assigned.
Scott Reynolds commentedAre you using roles in your view? Please export and share your view.
hongpong commentedSetting Distinct to True is done under Advanced Settings - under Query Settings. at /admin/build/views/edit/all_activity

_shyD6 reached its EOL back in February 2016, and there is no active release for D6 for this module anymore.
Development or support is not planned for D6. All D6-related issues are marked as outdated in a bunch.
If the issue remains relevant for D10+ versions, merge requests with proposed solutions for a new module version (D10+) are welcome in a new follow-up issue.
Thanks!
