Hi George,

first let me say thanks for creating this module. I like to buy you a drink (at least) the next time I see you ...

After installing the module I tried the Reset URL function and received a 500 Internal Server Error. Installing the dev-version did not help.

Maybe you depend on something I don't have installed yet.

When I actually try that URL it works (after I upgraded to 6.10).

There is also a doubling of words in the second paragraph: allows you to log in in without ...

Please advise ...

Kind regards,

Frank

hi frank, i do kinda regret it now!

ok, what do you mean when you say you "tried the Reset URL function"? what did you do - step by step if possible please! did you look in the apache error log to see what was reported?

so, upgrading to 6.10 solved all your issues? what version were you on before?

also, where is this doubling of words? what second paragraph?

thanks for the reports

Hi George,

sorry to bother you ...

When I said "I tried the Reset URL function", I meant that I hit the button with that label and got the 500 error. There were no further steps involved.

The server log tells me this: malformed header from script. Bad header=No recipient addresses found i

The drupal version I was using before was 6.9.

The doubling of words I had quoted before: allows you to log in in without ... (most times this is actually the first paragraph). You will find it on line 156 in your source.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Frank

PS: If I may make a suggestion: It might be a good feature to have a check box that allows me to disable the sending of the URL by email.

I downloaded a 6.9 release, installed, and had no errors. the 500 is most likely something to do with your server config. It looks like the error from the apache log got cut off, what's the full error?

as for #396050: add checkbox to allow optional emailing of new reset url , keep an eye on the issue ;)

also i'm confused, those words don't appear twice on the screen?

Here is the full error: malformed header from script. Bad header=No recipient addresses found i: /www/myhost/hosting/11753/mydomain/drupal/index.php

Is my english so bad or or is there one too many "in" in the phrase: This is your private URL which allows you to log in in without entering your details into a login box.

BTW: The URL is actually reset, it's just the mail that seems to cause the trouble.

Kind regards,

Frank

ahhh - now i see the typo! good catch! thanks and commited to cvs.

interesting about the mail problem. can your account send out email normally frank?

i'm going to keep this open while i look into the email problems further.

I can send mail from the contact form with no problem.

What I noticed when I got the 500 error, was that it said: Please contact the server administrator, [no address given].

I don't know if that is related, but I contacted the provider to find out how to supply an address for the admin.

Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Kind regards,

Frank

aha i think i got it!

the error: "malformed header from script. Bad header=No recipient addresses found" suggested no actual email address was being used while a mail send was attempted. and that was exactly what was happening!

pushed and is in 1.1

thanks
