Error when the token urls are builds

Problem/Motivation

When the relationship is between entities of the same type — for example, a node A with an entity reference field pointing to another node B, and then node B has another entity reference field pointing to node C — it works fine.
But when node A references a taxonomy term A, and that taxonomy term A then references another taxonomy term B, the generated path is node/$tid. That is, it seems that the first entity type is preserved when generating tokens for related entities that are not of the same entity type.
