Problem/Motivation

Need to make the 1.x branch of the module compatible with D10. Similar to the 2.x branch in #3327462: Drupal 10 compatibility issues.

Maintainers: I think it'd be worth committing this and tagging a 1.x release that's compatible with D10, just for that small number of sites that want to upgrade to D10 but aren't ready to upgrade to v2 yet.
