svenryen commentedThere seems to be a problem with color pickers in beta2, so I would recommend at this point to hold off until beta3 is ready.
You should be able to use beta3 without any issue once it's out. beta2 should also work but may need a cache clear to work.

I have an Olivero subtheme and when I check the option in the module and clear the cache, the appearance does not change.
Have you tested with an Olivero sub-theme?
