We will code a module suite which enhances the functionality of drupal commerce.
We are developing a shop at the moment and decided to deploy a community module to fill some gaps. So we can give a little bit in return for all those wonderful drupal modules that exist.

The first thing our customer asked for was an invoice as pdf attachment so our first module will be:

PDF invoice
This module will send an email with a themable PDF file attached. This is actually working and I have to bundle all needed files for a standalone module and develop a configuration entity. You have full access to the order object in your twig template and for example

  • The billing information.
  • The shipping information.
  • The payment method.
  • An array of order totals values

Users will be able to also download their pdf invoices in their user area.
I am somehow unsure how the order number is generated. You must have no gaps there. This and more makes me think, we need this module:

Invoice number
This will add a configurable invoice number to the order. It takes care about gaps and let you reserve invoice numbers in case you must create a cancellation invoice (which must have an own invoice number at least in germany). Invoice numbers in the form of ABC-1000 will also be possible.

Another thing is the supplier mail. When a customer has a supplier without an own backend he will ask you for a delivery note and an email so he can start the delivery process or pack your order and hand it out to a supplier.

Delivery note
This module will generate an eMail to your warehouse so they can pack up your goods, put a delivery note inside and print the shipment adress.
This is actually working and I have to bundle all needed files for a standalone module and develop a configuration entity.
Features are:

  • Themable delivery note as pdf attachment
  • Supplier role (can search for order/invoice numbers, download delivery notes, compare address book entries)
  • custom eMail address
  • custom subject
  • Themable eMail body
  • Themable eMail delivery note

We also see the need of another module which allows configured customers to order "on invoice" and pay later so we have to develop a payment gateway which allows your designated customers to pay later without missing your wonderful drupal commerce features.

Pay on account

  • Let people choose to pay on account in a payment gateway style
  • Give designated users or a role the right to use this gateway

Another module:

Offices

  • Assign user to a main office
  • Those user can use the shop by using payment methods or pay on account from the main office

We have to proof if this module will violate any laws first.

So far so good - we will come with some code soon ;-)
