Problem/Motivation

When you install the podcast module the existing (or future) views-based Feeds are affected. This is because the necessary pre-processing also affects them. This is avoidable.

Proposed resolution

Check if the selected style plugin is the one provided by this module. That will indicate that the view is for a Podcast Feed, and not just an RSS feed.
