1) There is no menu access to admin settings of Search404 module when logged in as user 1 (admin).

Administer > Site Configuration > Search 404 settings

2) Trying to access the location of the module settings by hand-typed url produces an error 403 (access denied) when logged in as user 1 (admin).

#2 was mentioned in another separate bug report, but I thought I'd formalize it here by itself so that it might be addressed.

It's because of the Drupal 6.2 minor menu system API Changes, imho.
