Many front-end developers prefer Gulp to Grunt for front-end builds. Provide an option to use Gulp during theme creation. Try to keep the build processes as similar as possible between Gulp and Grunt.

Figured this out, now you can use Gulp in addition to Grunt with the Liberty theme.
