Contextual filter ?

Hi

I have added a range field to a piece of content to which a service manual for a car is attached. The range indicates the car model years the service manual is relevant to ( ie. all years between 2004 and 2008 say ). I want to select my content using Views and pass a car's year in via a contextual filter to select all service manuals relevant to that year.

I can see there are both from and to fields exposed to Views by this module, but I can't work out how to achieve my goal. Is it possible with contextual filters, or do I need to use exposed filters.
