I have a new version of the statcounter module for drupal 7.x in my sandbox. If there are no objections, I would like to request (co-)maintenance of the Statcounter module, and provide the statcounter project with the new 7.x module.

My module departs from the method used by the older Statcounter module, by not using the block system to insert statcounter code into drupal pages.

It also offers more features:

  • Selectively track/exclude certain users, roles and pages
  • Cache the Statcounter code on your local server for improved page loading times
  • Access denied (403) and Page not found (404) tracking
  • DoNotTrack support (non-cached content only)

This module is based on code from the Google Analytics and Piwik Web analytics modules by Alexander Hass
