Concepts
Registration
The result of enrolling, registering or signing up for an event or other entity. A registration identifies who registered, when they registered, and what they registered for. In some installations, one registration can reserve multiple spaces. In most cases, however, a registration is analogous to a "ticket", with one registration granting entry to one person.
Host Entity
The event or other entity that a registration is for. The word "host" is used in this context because the event or other entity hosts a registration form that allows people to register for it.
Registration Settings
The settings that control capacity and other features of the registration form for a given host entity. The standard settings include capacity, maximum spaces per registration, whether multiple registrations per person are allowed, and the open and close dates for the registration form. Site builders can add or remove the settings relevant to their installation.
Registrant
The person who the registration is for. The registrant may be identified by email address or a Drupal user account. A registrant is typically the same as the person who registered, but can be different, for example an administrator registering someone who is unable to access the registration form.
Registration State
The status that a registration is in, for example "completed", "canceled" or "pending".
Registration Workflow
An entity that defines the possible registration states and what transitions are allowed between them. For example, a workflow may disallow changing a canceled registration to a completed registration.
Registration Type
The type of a registration, e.g. "event" or "webinar". Site builders can define any number of registration types that make sense for their installation. Each type is assigned a registration workflow.
