Validating Webform email fields using AEV

You can apply the same rules to email fields on any Webform by adding a handler to the form.

Prerequisites

• The Webform module is installed.
• Your webform has at least one Email or Email confirm element.

Steps

1. Edit your webform and go to Settings › Emails / Handlers.
2. Select Add handler, then Advanced email webform validator.
3. Under Select the email field/s to be validated, choose one or more email elements.
4. (Optional) Tick Override site defaults to set rules and messages just for this form. Leave it unticked to use the site-wide settings.
5. If you ticked override, choose the rules and adjust the messages and domain lists for this form.
6. Save the handler.

The handler validates the selected fields when the form is submitted and shows the configured error message if a rule fails.
