Organic groups can be tailored quite a bit when using Panels, Page Manager and Views.
Out of the box, O.G. creates quite a few views and views content panes. These can be cloned, modified or added to to get the most functionality.
First off please check out the video series by bjlewis2 on using panels with O.G. as it's the only way to go.
Examples:
There is a view called OG content. It outputs all the nodes related to the group as teasers paged at 10 items.
If you would like to display a list of all your members but you have a lot of members to display, open the view "OG Members and take a note
