I'm a Computer Science PhD Candidate at Oregon State University. My dissertation is on "Involving Older Adults in the Design and Development of Free/Open Source Software". In addition to the academia work, I'm also an advocate for women in technology and do extensive work with ChickTech (http://chicktech.org). My third hat is as Community Manager for an open source project called Privly (https://privly.org), which is all about personal data privacy. Among other things, I maintain the privly.org Drupal site. I care about all forms of diversity, and am passionate diversity in open source communities and the technology field in general. I have a solid programming background, but my current field is in user experience research. I look forward to entering industry as a user experience researcher in Summer 2014.
