Return only 1 row to CCK user and node-references from views and relationships (profile).

I am using the following
Drupal 7.12
PHP 5.2.17
References 7.x-2.0
Views 7.x-3.1

The resultant view can Preview data correctly but CCK user and nodereference (using Views+arguments) only display 1 row, although the data has been in views not to be displayed inline (if they are in the same column and even if they are not), only the item in the list shows, using select list, checkbox or autocomplete. Any ideas
