Update as normal and run database updates:

Git branch 1.0.x

This is the development release for the 1.0.x branch. It repackages automatically whenever work is pushed, so it always reflects the current state of the branch rather than a fixed point in time.

Install it if you want to follow development or test a fix before it appears in a tagged release:

composer require drupal/provider_map:1.0.x-dev

For anything you are running in front of real users, use a tagged release instead. Development releases move without warning and are not covered by the security advisory policy.
