We held an organizer meeting and discussed a possible name change, target audiences, program topics, and marketing strategies. Ultimately we decided not to change the name this year, but to continue thinking about it and defining our goals so that we might be in better position to announce a name change in the fall and officially change it next year.
For the program, we think it would be good to include a mix of sessions, birds of a feather, lighting talks, and a keynote.
For the website/marketing, we want to make sure it feels welcoming and inclusive. Ideas on what content to include in our planning doc. Updating the message on the homepage is top priority so that we can begin sending emails to sponsors ASAP. Other ideas can take a little more time to implement.
