Provide an extension to the Views Slideshow module, to provide the feature described in this issue:
http://drupal.org/node/323366.
As noted in the issue, the Views Slideshow maintainer has indicated that the feature addition must be as a separate project until he is ready to roll it into Views Slideshow (http://drupal.org/node/323366#comment-3586692).
The code is in alpha and currently undergoing community testing (history & details are in the issue).
I'm actively updating Doxygen code documentation, and am cognizant of Drupal coding standards. As of today, Coder reports no problems at the "minor" review level.

avpadernoHello, and thank you for applying for a CVS account.
Why would you create a project, if then the code would be included in an existing project? Did the maintainer say he will not add the feature if not between 6 months/1 year?

kentr commentedThanks for your response. The maintainer did not provide a timeline, and said that this extension would have to be a separate module until further notice.
Since there has been a request from the community to make this a separate project until it can be rolled into Views Slideshow, and there are multiple issues to address for which an issue queue would be helpful, it was my impression that the community would benefit from having this be a separate project for now.

avpadernoThank you for your reply. As the current maintainer of the existing project is not able to provide a timeline for the inclusion of the feature in the module, I think you get the precedence. :-)
The
version =line should be removed from the .info file as it is already added from the packaging script, and having two of such lines confuses the update manager, which is not able to understand the version of the installed module.Thank you for your contribution! I am going to update your account.

Thank you, also, for your patience with the review process.
