Being compatible with 7.x
So not really any new features, but the codebase is different because some things are easier to theme in D7, such as the theme settings form - and other 6.x features are put in D7 core so the theme is also more lightweight.
The downside is that whereas my D6 code has been tested extensively and is in use by hundreds of my clients, the D7 code is brand new and not recommended for production use (yet).
