this feature is present in D7 Core, with support for blocks and blocks from views.

therefore i think you can mark this module in the frontpage as not going to have a port to D7, due to the feature being present on D7.

you could also link to Total Admin Control Dashboard, a dashboard made with Panels which gives a lot more control and flexibility for D6 (and 7 in the future) - an obvious alternative for those seeking more features rather than a simple module for D6.
