We can't really use the node age filter on one of our sites because it always trips when users comment on large, long running forum threads that were created a long time ago.
It would be nice if we had the option to use the timestamp of the last comment made to the node rather than the timestamp of the node creation.

megan_m CreditAttribution: megan_m commentedThis is a problem for us too. We have a very old forum and some important discussions have been going on for years. With forums it makes more sense to go by comment timestamp, since that's the way forum indexes are sorted.

cweagansThat approach makes a lot of sense to me, as well. If nobody beats me to it, I'll be coding a patch for this. Ideally, users will have the option between the two behaviors (though I'm not sure why anybody would use the node age filter the way it is right now).
