I have enabled the module, entered the app ID and the widget doesn't show up.
I'm using the JDT3 Framework.

There are a couple of modules in this package, providing different widgets. Have you enabled on of them ? Also the version you are using is quite old.

I installed this module today and enabled fb_social, fb_social comments, fb_social like, and fb_social likebox. I added my app id in the settings. I'm not sure how to make the comments box show up... can someone please help?

make sure to add a setup
site building > facebook social > add

You can set the content type you want fb comments to show up at settings/fb/social/comments or enable the fb comments block
