Hey all,

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up to say that swentel, one of the maintainers of the downright convenient Sweaver module for theming (demo), is being awesome and working on a way for configured Skinr classes to work with his interface.

Feel free to offer encouragement or share your thoughts on how these two module might work together in other ways. Is this a good idea? Bad idea? Do you enjoy ice cream? Puppies? Discuss.

#853016: Find classes defined in the theme info file (eg skinr classes)

Note: If you have any spare highfives sitting around the office, please send them to swentel.

I've seen Sweaver recently and it looks like a great module and we're certainly open to integrating it with Skinr in whatever ways make the most sense (which obviously aren't fully clear yet at this point.) Thanks for posting here and providing the link to the other issue!

Having evaluated Sweaver, and realizing that the goals of each are pretty different, I'm not sure this is a good idea right now. We need to finish our own UI, which is going to be similar. See this comment for more details: #917448-5: Implement a Skinr UI editor that displays on the bottom of the page, instead of using Dialog API..

The Sweaver module has already done some work to expose Skinr styles in their editor though. I'm not sure if this will end up being enough, or not, but until we get our own UI figured out, we can't begin to think about how we'll integrate the two, so I'm postponing this for now.

Definitely looking for some cross compatibility between Sweaver and Skinr. I'm looking for a way for user (specifically OG group admin) to tweak the color of their organic group using a simple GUI interface.

The site admin could create specific CSS divs (Skinr) that could be tweaked by users with the right permissions/role (such as with Sweaver).

There is a discussion on Sweaver about this (http://drupal.org/node/873162).

I think it's great idea. I realize that the modules are different, but I also feel they could be very complimentary. I am not a coder so the value of my input here may limited, but I think it would be great if conflicts would be avoided and sweaver could "detect" or import skinr style sets. I love both modules, so I think it would be a great idea. I love skinr because of the reusable code, it just makes sense and is awesome and know the new ui will be incredible. I love sweaver because with the ui it is very easy(and time saving) to apply css in a very specific way. I personally feel both are needed and as I said complimentary(reusabillty + flexibility with specific targeting).

So high fives and so much appreciation to everyone involved with Skinr and Sweaver, I really can't thank you enough. I wish I could help out with the module development, but I am not a coder.

This might happen in D7, if a patch is provided, but definitely not in D6 anymore.
