I think the search box is the primary tool for navigating the site and it should be styled accordingly.
I would make the search form take the full width of the sidebar and can the submit button have special styling (like green) or is this not accounted for in the design?

This would be done in the API module's CSS file, and/or overridden by Bluecheese.

Title: Make search box bigger » Make search box bigger on api.drupal.org
Project: API » Bluecheese
Version: 7.x-1.x-dev »
Priority: Minor » Normal
Issue tags: +drupal.org D7

I've just updated the api.css file to make the width of the search box 100%, which works fine on my test box (running Bartik as the theme). Once this is deployed on the api.d.o D7 staging site, we should see how it looks in Bluecheese and then (if necessary) override it in Bluecheese. So, moving to that project for consideration and finalization (D7 migration).

This problem seems to have vanished in the latest Bluecheese on the API-7 staging site, so marking this fixed
