So when I setup the JW Media Player 4 as the FLV player on our site, and test it, the bottom control bar has a play button that just times out and loops without actually playing the video, if I click ion the play icon overlay on the video window itself, the video plays. JW Media Player 3 works as intended though. Didn't see a bug report for this issue yet, pardon me if there is one already.

How are you embedding the player? What does the page source code say - is it referencing the proper file?
Also, do you have this on a live site where it's possible to see what is going on?

I can confirm that this happens on Safari 4, Firefox 3.6 and Internet Explorer 8. We are embedding with SWFObject 2

Stuart Greenfield CreditAttribution: Stuart Greenfield commentedThis seems to be something of an intermittent issue with JW Player and there are a few posts on their issue queue (e.g. http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/forums/jw-player/setup-issues-and-e...)
A common attempt at a fix seems to be trying to fix the file metadata using http://www.buraks.com/flvmdi/
It might also be related to the large video file? If I download the video locally it plays fine with just one click! Other posts on the JW queue seem to find the same though - works fine locally, but needs two clicks when uploaded to a server.
I'm not sure this is an SWF Tool issue - it's more of a JW Player issue I think, but I'll leave the thread open for now in case anyone has seen this and has some advice!

rgracia CreditAttribution: rgracia commentedThanks for checking into this, I am changing our site to use version 3 for now and will keep an eye on this and see if there's an update that will make version 4 work better.
