I applied the patch that fixes the problem with drupal installed in a directory and then fixed that patch by hand per instructions at http://drupal.org/node/403596#comment-1380854

I can now create and save annotations -- as long as there is only one imagefield on the page.
It looks pretty cool.

If there is more than one image though the images are replaced by

Add a noteAdd a noteAdd a noteAdd a note

Any quick fix for this?

After digging a little deeper into this problem I'm discovering that it is going to require quite a bit of work. I'm currently working on fixing this bug, as well as adding the ability to style annotations (ie pushpins instead of boxes). I'll happily provide a patch if/when I finish.
