Nowhere publicly have they specifically stated that they want to add me as a contributor (though they allude to it in this thread: http://drupal.org/node/743162 - he refers to me by my first name, Aaron). They *have* specifically asked me via email. I received an email today: "I tried to add you to our project in Drupal, but I got the following error message : "azinck does not have a CVS account.".
We would like to grant you a full access to the gigya project in Drupal, so we need you to apply for a CVS account in Drupal."
Feel free to contact them or me directly with any questions.

EvanDonovan commentedazinck's patches have been vital to the stabilization of the module. See #742430: Patch to fix several bugs & #647334: Gigya user registration form override causes issues w/Organic Groups, User Location, Legal, LoginToboggan. The later patch essentially was committed wholesale to become the 2.x branch of the module.
azinck's contribution is needed now so that the critical issue #718642: Wrong branch got tagged for release for version 1.0 can be resolved, the issue queue can be cleaned up further (see #744978: Remove the "Gigya API" component & direct people to the Gigya Forum, and the module roadmap can be advanced on Drupal.org, instead of only on a staging repository (see #745052: Roadmap for 6.x-2.x-dev.
I believe that the former maintainers of the module, japerry and jbrauer, would also be supportive of azinck becoming a maintainer.

avpadernoHello, and thanks for applying for a CVS account.
As for this case, it's required that the current maintainer explicitly reports that he accepts you as co-maintainer, using your current username to avoid confusion with a different user. It's fine if he reports that directly here.

Gigya commentedHi,
I ( Gigya ) hereby accept azinck (http://drupal.org/node/744946) as a co-maintainer in the Gigya Socialize module (http://drupal.org/project/gigya).
Thanks a lot,
The Gigya team.
