Hello,

Last me a hostprovider that I've only been with for 4 months went out of business without letting customers
know, leaving me in the lurch. I tried switching to a company called Siteground on Friday and their customer
support was hideous so I cancelled and tried a service called SiteLogic, I'm having a ton of issues trying to get
drupal to work on their service, and they haven't responded to a single support request in the last 4 days, so I'm
going to move to someone else on Friday, because I'm not getting the "warm fuzzies" from Startlogic.

Can someone recommend a decent hostprovider? It shouldn't be this difficult to find one!

I've had no problem so far with dreamhost.com, i've heard that site5.com and textdrive.com rocks. Can't give you more than that, I've got my own dedicated server now...

There are a couple of other posts relating to hosting woes at the moment - check them out

Personally, i just moved from my pitiful host (hostinginsiders) over to bluehost. There have been a couple of outages but their response has been really good (ie they didnt blame me or deny it every happened). In fact I didnt know about the second one - they contacted me.

Recently I added SSH support (no fee) and they had it configured and setup within 1/2 hour of my intitial enquiry. They also have no cancellation fee and a pro-rata refund if you want to cancel the hosting for any reason, so there is no lock in.

good luck finding someone - it is a really painful experience. Kind of like buying a used car, you always feel like someone is going to screw you.

I use Site5.com for all my hosting. I run 2 websites through them. One runs on Drupal the other on Wordpress. My support experiance with them has been top notch. While they don't have a phone number you can call their email techs have always responded within 12 hours of my inquries.

Their backend dashboard is killer wicked as well.

So try Site5.com

Highland webhosting are pretty good. There's a demo drupal install at www.ruriecruise.com for the time being to demonstrated ow quickly drupal runs on their servers. Their packages are good, and the prices are cheap too.
