Attempting to output a field as a drop-down in views

Hi, I'm building a view, and I'm trying to display the fields as drop-down menus, so the user on the page for the view can sort the data by selecting from the menus.

Am I going about this all wrong? I tried putting some HTML in the "rewrite the output of this field," but no dice.
