yhahn commentedThis feature has been dropped from the 2.x branch.

socialnicheguru commentedReally? is there a mod that does the replacement? It is a great tool when developing.
sinasalek commentedWhy?
seanrThis was a pretty useful feature, and I've not found any other contrib modules out there that do it.
terbs commentedAgreed.
It's super sad that this feature was just "dropped" and ignored.
steve_uk commentedI would really like to have this as an option - I am surprised that it has been removed. So much so, I have spent hours trying to work out why it hasn't been working on my new install! Maybe make the removal of this feature a bit clearer (in the readme.txt)?
My clients appreciate this feature as it removes the standard 'View/Edit/etc' tabs, which don't appear for the average visitor on most websites.
In the meantime, I am attempting to hide and show the standard tabs using CSS...
I am also happy to spend some time fixing something relating to this functionality that has broken - just let me know.

socialnicheguru commentedI loved this feature too.
I have tried other modules with little success.

seanrThis module replaces the lost functionality in question: http://drupal.org/project/block_edit - I'd strongly suggest adding this to the project page so more people will find it (it does not come up in a google search of d.o for admin inline, so it took me quite a while to find it).

sickness29 commentedDevelopment or support is not planned for D6. All D6-related issues are marked as outdated in a bunch.
If the issue remains relevant for D10+ versions, merge requests with proposed solutions for a new module version (D10+) are welcome in a new follow-up issue.
Thanks!
